Etch is a useful material used to prepare the enamel surface for bonding. However, it’s important to note that etch is an acidic gel and should only be applied to clean, dry enamel for the recommended time, typically 15–30 seconds, depending on manufacturer instructions. Avoid contact with soft tissue!

Etch is not curable and should be rinsed off thoroughly before applying any bonding agents. Improper use may result in over-etching, sensitivity, or compromised bond strength.
