Tooth Gem FAQs

What are tooth gems?

They’re tiny tooth jewels bonded to the surface of your teeth using real dental materials, yep, the same kind you'd find in a legit dental office. They're applied with dental bond and composite, just like Invisalign attachments.

Are tooth gems safe?

Totally, when applied by someone trained, on a client who’s a good fit, and as long as they don’t interfere with your oral hygiene routine or health, you're good to go.

How long do tooth gems last?

On average, about 6 months to a year, depending on your habits and how well you care for them.

Am I a good candidate?

A good candidate for tooth gems or teeth whitening is someone who has no oral health issues and sees a dentist for cleanings and check-ups regularly.

Do tooth gems hurt?

Not even a little. The application is completely painless.

Will it affect my oral hygiene?

Not at all. I design every application with your hygiene in mind, brushing and flossing should remain a part of your daily routine.

Can I still get my teeth cleaned at the dentist?

Yes! Your hygienist can work around the gem just fine.

What types of gems do you offer?

Glass crystals like Swarovski and Preciosa, biocompatible synthetic opals, and solid 18k gold charms in shapes like hearts, stars, letters, and more.

Do you offer training or wholesale?

Yep. I offer wholesale pricing for professionals. The prices you see on the site are not retail, they're pro-level, kind of like what the piercing shop owner pays behind the scenes, not what the walk-in pays at the front counter.

Will a tooth gem damage my enamel?

No. The gem sits on the enamel surface only and doesn't go any deeper.

Can I still use my electric toothbrush?

Yes, and you should! Just be gentle, especially with hard or crunchy foods.

What happens if my gem falls off?

Don't panic! If it comes off within a month, I will replace it for free. If you have some composite left behind, it can be removed by a dentist!

Can I choose more than one gem or create a custom design?

Heck yeah! I love creative designs.

Are the materials safe and non-toxic?

Absolutely. Everything I use is safe for the mouth. If you ever want to see the Medical Safety Data Sheet for a product, just ask.

Do I need to avoid eating or drinking after the appointment?

Nope! Once the material is cured, you’re good to go. You can eat, drink, and live life like normal. (Check out my aftercare blog if you're curious.)

Whitening FAQs

What kind of whitening do you offer?

I offer two packages! One is a quick, one visit trip, and the other package is for deep stain lifting!

Is it safe for sensitive teeth?

Yes. I have multiple gel options for sensitive teeth and a few tricks to help avoid discomfort. If you know you’re sensitive, use a potassium nitrate toothpaste twice a day for two weeks before your appointment (no skipped days). I also recommend taking 500 mg of Tylenol or Advil beforehand.

How white will my teeth get?

That depends on the type and depth of your stains, plus the package you choose. We’ll talk about realistic expectations during your appointment.

How long do the results last?

It varies based on your lifestyle. If you drink a lot of coffee, tea, or red wine, you may need touch-ups more often.

Will whitening affect my tooth gems or dental work like crowns or fillings?

Whitening will not damage gems or dental work. Please remember that crowns, veneers, or other unnatural tooth structure will not alter in shade when whitened.

Can I whiten my teeth if I have a gem on?

Yes! The gem doesn’t interfere with whitening at all. We can do both in one appointment, too!
